No matter how helpful machine translation engines are, they cannot do without human assistance. Yet, you can use one of them if getting the general idea of a text is your only goal.

However, a free online option will not suffice for a full-fledged high-quality translation. The entire text should be checked and edited by a human MT post-editor.

What does the MT post-editor actually do?

• Carefully proofreads the text and corrects all inaccuracies in translation and terminology.
• Corrects punctuation marks, spelling of proper names, and capitalisation.
• Checks and translates abbreviations where necessary.
• Eliminates semantic errors that often occur due to imperfections in the source text.
• Corrects awkward and meaning-affecting translation errors.
• Carries out fact-checking: ensures the correctness of the translated names, titles, surnames, company names, etc.
